This concert conducted by young Finnish conductor Emilia Hoving honors composers who placed Scandinavia on the map of great musical nations in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Among them, Danish Carl Nielsen gives us the measure of his orchestration talent with a festive and sparkling work, his overture to the opera Masquerade, inspired by the one they called the "Scandinavian Molière", Ludvig Holberg.
Finnish Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto is a classic of the repertoire for violin and orchestra.
