Noah Learmonth is the kind of frontman around whom great bands are built.
Listening to him speak with his deadpan humour, the Radio Free Alice singer appears as a leader who knows exactly what he wants to do with his band: catchy songs, but with a real self-awareness; a universe rich in nuances, humour, and a singular form of joy; a band for those who often find themselves on the fringes of the party, while harbouring outsized ambitions, fully embraced and visible on their debut album, What's In Between (due out October 30th on Atlantic Records).
Learmonth and guitarist Jules Paradiso formed the band while still at school in Sydney, before moving to Melbourne at 18 to fully dedicate themselves to music.
With their former members remaining in Sydney, they quickly met bassist Michael Phillips and drummer Lochie Dowd at the University of Melbourne. RFA quickly transcended the often-difficult-to-break-into Australian music scene to become a band invited to stages worldwide.
In 2025, they had scheduled a single headline date in London. Faced with phenomenal demand, this eventually turned into six sold-out shows within a month. Later that year, they embarked on their first US tour, including three sold-out shows in New York.
During festival season, they performed on major international stages, from Governor's Ball to Reading & Leeds. Back in Australia, they supported Geese on their first tour in the country, then accompanied The Killers on their latest arena tour.
