Overview
Venue: Main hall (level -3) The word sankyoku refers to both an instrumental ensemble consisting of a shakuhachi, a sangen (shamisen) and a koto, and a repertoire.
During this concert, seven remarkable musicians from the Yamada and Ikuta schools will perform a programme of classical works from the Edo period (1603-1868).
This concert will close with a world premiere: a new work by French composer Fabien Waksman for string quartet, shakuhachi and three kotos. On this occasion, the Quatuor Tchalik will join Japanese musicians.
