Designed for the exceptional space of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, this programme explores the multiple dimensions of resonance: that of sound within architecture, that of works across time, and that of traditions passed down from generation to generation. Harmonic interplay, echoes, ostinatos, and vast soundscapes invite the listener to an auditory experience where music seems to fully inhabit the space. Combining Gregorian chant with 20th and 21st-century creations, this journey brings together universes from very diverse horizons. Works by Maurice Ohana, Veljo Tormis, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Bob Chilcott, and Sarah Hopkins extend and reinvent ancestral musical gestures, revealing the permanence of certain forms of spirituality and contemplation. Performed by the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris under the direction of Émilie Fleury, this immersive concert invites a sonic stroll where music, silence, and architecture respond to each other in a shared sensory experience.
