Overview
Originally from New York, Slow Fiction is an indie rock quintet formed from friendships and creative connections forged at university, before taking shape amid the upheaval of the pandemic.
The band develops a sound that moves between the raw energy of 1990s rock, notably inspired by Sonic Youth and The Jesus and Mary Chain, and a contemporary melancholy, carried by introspective lyrics and a strong emotional intensity.
Early on, the five members chose to live together, turning their shared everyday life into a true creative playground. This closeness feeds their music and gave rise to their first EP, Crush, released in 2024, ahead of their first self-produced album, dollhouse.
Across its 11 tracks, the band explores identity, the gaze of others and the way we build ourselves when we are constantly being watched, with rock that is at once nervous, melodic and cathartic.
After a set at Rock en Seine in 2025, Slow Fiction is back for a concert at La Boule Noire on 16 February 2027!
