Overview
Soichi Terada at La Gaité Lyrique
SOICHI TERADA
presents SUMO x APES LIVE AV
A cult figure of the Japanese electronic scene, Soichi Terada unveils Sumo x Apes, a previously unheard live show that finally brings together two sides of his universe: the jungle of his legendary 1996 album Sumo Jungle and the soundtracks of Ape Escape, which have become cult favourites among gamers and crate-diggers alike.
Breakbeats, rounded basslines and melodies that smell of the console: Terada reinvents his classics in a set that is at once nostalgic and resolutely forward-looking. On screen, he personally designs visuals synchronised in real time, where traditional Japanese imagery meets the wildly offbeat aesthetic of video games.
An exclusive tour, far removed from his usual house sets. Where jungle meets the joystick.
