Éclats de folie
Ensemble Amarillis | Héloïse Gaillard, conductor
Stéphanie d'Oustrac, mezzo-soprano
Works by Heinichen, Campra, Marais, Destouches, Rebel, Purcell, Eccles, Handel, Keiser
In opera, madness is not merely an idea, a concept or a state: it is sometimes a character in its own right. Stirring up a little of itself to disturb an established order, or breathing on the faint embers of a timid love, its entrances are always an occasion for a brilliant moment in the work. With this programme, by turns virtuosic and extravagant, Stéphanie d'Oustrac and Ensemble Amarillis make us fall in love with baroque music… to the point of madness!
