Surprise
SURPRISE Surprise is reality facing a distorting mirror.
Overview
SURPRISE Surprise is reality facing a distorting mirror. Her music reworks the truth, giving it a look that is sometimes laughable, sometimes detestable.
Her lyrics are marked by an introspection that is as nonchalant as it is touching, the result of experimentation going back to her earliest years. Shaped as much by the whimsy of Kali Uchis as by the versatility of Mac Miller, Surprise builds a distinctive identity.
Its depth comes from the diversity of genres she explores, from rap to jazz via house on an iconic feature with Mandyspie. Rejecting convention, and in particular the rules prescribed for women, Surprise composes, raps and sings with the same defiance.
With constant perfectionism, she released an EP and an album between 2023 and 2024, leading to a first sold-out show at La Boule Noire in early 2025. Her appearances on Mouv', at the Ici Demain festival and at Grünt Fest 3 alongside ADVM establish her as an artist to watch.
If there is a world between dream and reality, Surprise embodies it.
