About — The venue
Le Plan is a French commune located in the centre of the Haute-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region.
Historically and culturally, the commune is in the Pays de Comminges, corresponding to the former County of Comminges, a district of the province of Gascony located in the current departments of Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, and Ariège. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, it is drained by the Volp and various other small watercourses. The commune possesses a remarkable natural heritage composed of three natural areas of ecological, faunistic, and floristic interest.
Le Plan is a rural commune with 441 inhabitants in 2023, after having experienced a population peak of 1,392 inhabitants in 1836. It is part of the Toulouse metropolitan area. Its inhabitants are called Planéens or Planéennes.
The architectural heritage of the commune includes one building protected as a historical monument: the Saint-Pierre church, listed in 1950.
