The legendary pioneers of Swiss rock The Young Gods celebrate their 40 years of career with their 14th studio album, Appear Disappear. After the atmospheric settings of Data Mirage Tangram (2019), the trio wanted to return to something raw, direct and visceral.
Guitars are out, knives drawn: The Young Gods tighten their aim and strike with regenerated power. Rarely has a Young Gods album fed so much from its era: military conflicts, widespread surveillance, intimate dramas.
Since 1985, the band has invented musical territories by daring the encounter between the naked urgency of rock and the power of electronics.
Appear Disappear captures its vibrant heart, honouring their history while incorporating their ever-present influences, from psychedelic rock to post-punk.
