Tokyo Tea Room

The British group Tokyo Tea Room brings its indie-tinged pop rock to La Bellevilloise for an evening devoted to their music. A chance to discover their distinctive universe on stage.

Originally from Canterbury, Tokyo Tea Room formed around singer and songwriter Beth Plumb, guitarist Ben Marshall, bassist Sam Teather and drummer Ryan Debling. The group began to attract attention in the mid-2010s, developing a sound that blends the catchy melodies of pop with the raw energy of indie rock. Their music is often characterised by dreamy atmospheres and introspective lyrics, creating a distinct sonic identity that quickly set them apart on the emerging scene.

Their discography includes EPs such as "Dreams" (2017) and "Parade" (2019), along with singles that helped build their reputation, such as "Flicker" or "Designer". These tracks illustrate their ability to create soundscapes that are both ethereal and uplifting, where Beth Plumb's voice sits delicately over textured guitar arrangements and a solid rhythm section. Their influences lie somewhere between psychedelic pop and alternative rock, sometimes evoking bands such as Beach House or Warpaint, while cultivating their own distinctive character.

On stage, Tokyo Tea Room is known for its immersive approach. The group favours an intimate atmosphere, where musical precision and emotion take centre stage. Their performances are often described as sonic journeys, in which instrumental textures unfold to envelop the audience. This date at La Bellevilloise, a Parisian venue renowned for its eclecticism and warm setting, offers an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in their world and appreciate the finesse of their compositions live. It is a chance to experience an authentic musical evening with a band that continues to forge its path with integrity.
