Overview
In the great plains between Colombia and Venezuela, cattle herders play a rhythmic music of Arab-Andalusian and indigenous origin.
Le Trio de la Plaine revives this tradition with three instruments, a trio made up of the arpa llanera (traditional Venezuelan harp), the cuatro (small four-string guitar) and maracas, accompanying improvised songs that tell of life, love and the beauty of the landscapes of 'Los Llanos', that vast region of grassy plains...
Their repertoire blends joropos llaneros, pasajes, waltzes and tonadas, as well as other typical rhythms such as the bambuco and the pasillo. Voice, cello, cuatro: Consuelo Uribe Arpa llanera: Murielle Kopff-Vérité Maracas, cuatro, transverse flutes: Diego Uribe.
