Ulrika Spacek have just released their fourth album, ‘EXPO’, which is presented as a symbol of the strength of collective creation in the age of hyperindividualism. Musically, the new album is built as a dialogue between the analogue and the electronic.
Rooted in art rock but more than ever inspired by synthetic textures, Ulrika Spacek are drawn to the fault line and the glitch, going so far as to sample themselves, blurring the boundaries between the real and “almost real”.
Their music combines human warmth and digital isolation, welcoming and alienating at once. A collective vision in which creating together becomes an act of resistance.
