Overview
RUCHE TOUR Wamen takes her name from her grandmother: in 2016, she inherits her first name and chooses to carry her memory on stage.
Franco-Cameroonian, she grows up in Cameroon until the age of 16 and draws on this dual culture for a rich musical identity, nourished by Henri Dikongué, Jacques Brel, Lady Ponce, Édith Piaf, Aretha Franklin or Nina Simone.
Wamen tells stories of love that are often broken, mirrors of a generation and its wounds, with direct and poetic writing. With Discipline, which has become a true anthem, she asserts her strength and identity while denouncing a sexism that has become normalised today.
Her project RE (17 August 2025) marks the end of a cycle and opens the way to a profound sense of peace, carried by an artist of great sincerity and supported by a loyal and committed community.
After selling out La Maroquinerie within just a few hours, Wamen will perform on 9 December at La Cigale, also sold out, before embarking on a tour across the whole of France.
