About — The artist
Alain Chamfort, born Alain Le Govic on 2 March 1949 in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, is a French singer-songwriter.
He was spotted by Claude François, who had him record his first hits, such as Adieu mon bébé chanteur and L'Amour en France, which earned him the label of « teen idol singer ». He left that world behind in 1976 by signing with CBS in order to change style and gain full artistic freedom.
In 1979, he performed Manureva, which remains to this day the biggest hit of his career and has sold more than a million copies.
