About — The artist
Alex Lutz is a French actor, comedian, stage director, playwright, novelist and film director, born on 25 August 1978 in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin).
After several supporting roles on stage, he was discovered in film through his supporting role as the Nazi chief Heinrich Von Zimmel, opposite Jean Dujardin, in Michel Hazanavicius's spoof comedy OSS 117: Lost in Rio, the sequel to the previous film (2009). However, it was really his character, the secretary Catherine, in the comedy programme Catherine et Liliane, which he played alongside his friend Bruno Sanches, that propelled him into the spotlight and won him public recognition. For six years, the duo drew strong audiences before amicably parting ways in 2019.
He has won three Molière Awards for comedy, in 2016, 2020 and 2026. In film, recognition came the same year when he won the Lumière Award and the César Award for Best Actor for his role in Guy, a mockumentary musical marking his second outing as a director.
