About — The artist
Alphaville penned two of synth-pop's most immortal anthems: “Big in Japan” and “Forever Young” (1984), a ballad endlessly covered and sampled, from American proms to Jay-Z. Marian Gold's German band has never stopped touring, performing these new wave classics with modernised arrangements and a surprisingly well-preserved voice. Their Parisian concerts are unashamed time capsules, where the 80s are sung with eyes closed and hearts open.
