About — The artist
Blink-182 is an American pop punk band from Poway, California. Formed in 1992, the band currently consists of singer and guitarist Tom Delonge, singer and bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker.
With their original drummer, Scott Raynor, and their original singer and guitarist, Tom DeLonge, the band recorded their first three albums in 1994 (under the name Blink), 1995 and 1997. Their second album, Dude Ranch, achieved modest success with around a million copies sold worldwide, but allowed the band to gain recognition. After Raynor was replaced by Barker on drums, Blink-182 released their third album in 1999, Enema of the State. The single All the Small Things, taken from this album, reached number one on the Alternative Songs chart, the American chart of the most-played alternative rock songs on radio, and enabled the band to achieve international success. The album from which All the Small Things is taken went on to sell 15 million copies worldwide; it is the band's best-selling record. In 2001, the band had its biggest commercial success with its fourth album, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, which topped the album charts in the United States, Canada and Germany. After their fifth, self-titled album blink-182, the band split up in 2005.
The three band members then worked on other musical projects, including Angels & Airwaves founded by Tom DeLonge and +44 founded by Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. The band announced their reformation in 2009, and released their sixth album, Neighborhoods, in 2011. In 2012, the band went independent following their split from record label Interscope Records. Unable to make himself available for more than a few concerts and to record a new album with his two colleagues, DeLonge was excluded from the band in early 2015.
He was replaced by Alkaline Trio founder Matt Skiba, with whom the band recorded 2 albums: "California" in 2016 and "Nine" in 2019.
On 11 October 2022, the band announced the return of Tom Delonge, announcing Skiba's departure.
