Muse

Muse (pronounced in English: [mjuːz]) is a British rock band, originally from Teignmouth, in Devon, England. Emerging on the music scene in 1994, the trio is composed of Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass, harmonica, vocals, backing vocals), and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion).

Muse has released ten studio albums since its inception: Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009), The 2nd Law (2012)—an album that topped the charts in several countries including the United Kingdom and France—Drones (2015), Simulation Theory (2018), Will of the People (2022), and The Wow! Signal (2026). They have also authored several live DVDs: Hullabaloo (2002), Absolution Tour (2005), HAARP (2008), Live at Rome Olympic Stadium (2013), Drones (2018), and Simulation Theory (2020).

For the 2012 London Olympic Games, the band was invited to compose the official event anthem (the song Survival) and also made an appearance at the closing ceremony. As of 2026, the British band has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide. Regularly awarded prizes, they have notably won the Grammy Award in the "Best Rock Album" category in 2011, 2016, and 2022.
