About — The artist
Cake, styled CAKE, is an American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California. Although its musical style is mostly considered alternative or indie rock, it is actually a blend of many influences such as funk, ska, jazz, rap, and country. This distinctive style has led to comparisons with King Missile, Talking Heads, They Might Be Giants, and Soul Coughing.
Among its main hits are The Distance, Never There, Sheep Go to Heaven, Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle, No Phone, Short Skirt/Long Jacket, as well as their cover of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive.
