Duman

Duman is a Turkish rock band. The group is made up of Kaan Tangöze, Batuhan Mutlugil, Ari Barokas and Cengiz Baysal. The band is influenced by rock, grunge and Turkish "traditional" music.

Kaan began writing songs while living in Seattle in the early 1990s. He played in the band Mad Madame. Kaan then returned to Turkey, where he formed a group with Ari Barokas, who was then playing in Blue Blues Band, and with Batuhan Mutlugil. Duman then released its first song, Halimiz Duman.

The band looked for a drummer but could not find anyone, and so it hired Alen Konakoğlu for the studio albums.

Duman released its first studio album, Eski Köprünün Altında, in 1999, followed by its second, Belki Alışman Lazım, in 2002. These two albums were major successes in Turkey, and Duman became the figurehead of a new generation of rock bands. In 2004, their live album Konser came out, and the group became the first Turkish rock band to release a live performance on DVD. The fourth album, Seni Kendime Sakladım, came out in 2005.

In 2009, Duman released two albums: Duman I and Duman II. Cengiz Baysal was also officially confirmed in his role as the band's drummer.
