Gold

Gold is a French pop rock band from the Tarn, which achieved national success in the 1980s. The band is now composed of Lucien Crémadès, Bernard Mazauric, Étienne Salvador and David Bouad.

In 1985, the band became famous with its first hit Plus près des étoiles. Subsequently, in its formation with Lucien Crémadès, Alain Llorca, Bernard Mazauric, Étienne Salvador and Émile Wandelmer, Gold achieved successive hits: all subsequent singles reached the Top 10 in sales until Calicoba in 1987. In 1990, singer Émile, disagreeing with the band's plans, left the project to release a solo album, which achieved only modest success. He later joined the band Images to form Émile and Images, in which he performs former Gold hits of his composition. Since Émile's departure, even though Gold no longer tops the charts, it continues to perform.

In France, the band's records account for more than four million copies sold (singles and albums combined).
