About — The artist

Gold is a French pop rock group, from the Tarn, who achieved national success in the 1980s. The group is now made up of Lucien Crémadès, Bernard Mazauric, Étienne Salvador and David Bouad.

In 1985, the group became famous with their first hit Plus près des étoiles. Afterwards, in their line-up with Lucien Crémadès, Alain Llorca, Bernard Mazauric, Étienne Salvador and Émile Wandelmer, Gold notched up one hit after another: every subsequent single reached the Top 10 in sales up to Calicoba in 1987. In 1990, singer Émile, at odds with the group's plans, left the project to release a solo album, which met with only limited success. He later joined the group Images to form Émile et Images, in which he performed his own past Gold hits. Since Émile's departure, although Gold no longer tops the Top 50, they continue to perform.

In France, the group's records have sold more than four million copies (singles and albums combined).
