About — The artist
Hällas is a Swedish hard rock band formed in 2011 in Jönköping, Småland, by Jesper Nodbrant, Tommy Alexandersson and Kasper Eriksson. It plays a mix of progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal inspired by 1970s bands, giving rise to a genre it calls “adventure rock”.
The band's name comes from the main character in the stories told in its lyrics: Hällas is a knight living in a parallel, medieval world where “religion, in the same way, though not necessarily the ones we know here, is very present, and where treacherous tyrants rule over lands on the brink of apocalypse, and where seers have gained so much power that they can dictate the future and the past”.
