About — The artist
Lovebites (stylized LOVEBITES) is a Japanese power metal band formed in 2016 by Miho and Haruna, former members of Destrose. Its current lineup features Asami on vocals, Midori and Miyako on guitars, Haruna on drums and Fami on bass.
After signing with Victor Entertainment, the band released both its debut EP and its first album in 2017, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, before playing its first overseas shows later that year. With a new EP and album released in 2018, Battle Against Damnation and Clockwork Immortality, Lovebites quickly drew international attention and won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band that year. After the release of Electric Pentagram (2020) and Glory, Glory, to the World (2021), bassist Miho left the band in August 2021. Following a year-long hiatus, Lovebites recruited Fami on bass and released Judgement Day, its fourth album, in February 2023, which reached number five on the Oricon and Billboard Japan charts.
