Luz Casal, born on November 11, 1958, in Boimorto (Galicia), is a Spanish pop-rock singer, considered one of the best popular music soloists in Spain. After her successes in her home country in the 1980s, she achieved international fame following the inclusion of two of her songs in Pedro Almodóvar's 1991 film High Heels. By 2007, sales of her albums exceeded five million copies.
