The Puppini Sisters is a British female pop/jazz trio specializing in close harmony vocalization, a technique very popular in the 1940s.
Their style is both glamorous, retro, and new burlesque. The members are currently Italian Marcella Puppini and Englishwomen Kate Mullins and Emma Smith. Their name was chosen as a reference to the Andrews Sisters, who are one of their main influences. The trio also cite the influence of The Chordettes, The Boswell Sisters, Marlene Dietrich, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Joan Crawford, as well as Kate Bush, Mike Flowers, The Smiths, Tom Waits, Carole King, and even Marilyn Manson.
