Thirty Seconds TO Mars

The discography of Thirty Seconds to Mars, an American alternative rock band, consists of four studio albums, three EPs, thirteen singles, and thirteen music videos.

Thirty Seconds to Mars was founded in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, by composer Jared Leto and his brother Shannon Leto. The band currently consists of the Leto brothers and Tomo Miličević. In 1999, Thirty Seconds to Mars signed a contract with Immortal Records and Virgin Records, and after three years released their first album, 30 Seconds to Mars. The album debuted at number 107 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Heatseekers. Two singles were released from it, Capricorn (A Brand New Name) and Edge of the Earth, which reached the top ten on the UK Rock Chart. The former also reached 31st place on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks and first place on Heatseekers Songs.

The second album, A Beautiful Lie, was recorded across four continents and five countries over three years. Since its release in 2005, the album has been a modest commercial success worldwide, going platinum in the United States and Italy, and achieving gold status in several other countries. The album produced four singles: Attack, The Kill, From Yesterday, and A Beautiful Lie. Attack was the most added song on alternative radio during its first week, while The Kill set a record for 52 weeks of longevity on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks, after reaching third place in 2006. The third single, From Yesterday, reached first place on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks for several weeks. A Beautiful Lie was released as the album's fourth single in certain countries, including Portugal, where it reached eighth place. As of April 2008, A Beautiful Lie had sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.

After a lawsuit filed by EMI concluded with a new contract, the band released their third album, This Is War, on December 4, 2009. The album charted high on American charts, reaching first place on Tastemaker Albums, second on Alternative Albums and Digital Albums, fourth on Rock Albums, and eighteenth on the Billboard 200. Its first two singles, Kings and Queens and This Is War, reached first place on Alternative Songs and number four on Rock Songs. The third single, Closer to the Edge, holds the record for eight weeks spent at the top of the UK Rock Chart in 2010.

The fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams, was released in May 2013. The tracks were written and recorded in part during the 2011 tour. The album's first single, Up in the Air, was sent to astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) on March 1, 2013.
