4211 km - Aïla Navidi - Tournée

4211 kmWritten and directed by Aïla Navidi, « 4211 km  » is a true theatrical gem, a profound reflection on uprootedness, inheritance and identity, performed by striking actors.

« 4211 km  » is the distance between Paris and Tehran, the very distance travelled by Mina and Fereydoun, who came to seek refuge in France after a revolution that was stolen from them. Yalda, their daughter, born in Paris, tells their story.

Their exiled life, their struggle for freedom, their love of a country and their hope of returning. Yalda takes us through her two worlds: her family, dreamers, survivors, heroes who never complain, and the outside world in which she desperately searches for her place.

How does one live with this inheritance in a society so opposed to her culture and ideals? She opens up about the weight of the past, her sense of the duty of remembrance, her anger, her anxieties, that bottomless longing to go to Iran, her quest for identity.

It is the story of an inheritance that one both loves and hates, the story of men and women seeking to carve out a new path.
