Moral Support and Le Chinois present:

• Anciients (USA)

Fans of heavy riffs and guitar prowess will not be disappointed by Beyond the Reach of the Sun. "Melt the Crown", the first single, lines up three guitar solos with folk, southern blues, and psych prog influences. And Anciients also know how to make you headbang: after a few acoustic arpeggios, "Cloak of the Vast and Black" arrives with its massive riffs. Behind this heaviness, the album tells a story of interdimensional slavery, but above all speaks of perseverance and rebirth. "With Beyond the Reach of the Sun", the band draws from new sources of inspiration and pushes their progressive metal even further.

• Untitled With Drums (Clermont-Ferrand)

A worthy heir to Failure, Quicksand, and other Cave In, Untitled With Drums stands out as THE prodigy of a French rock scene lacking risk-taking, too often reduced to flat heaviness. Noticed on the stages of Hellfest 2022 and Les Nuits de Fourvière supporting the legendary Deftones, as well as London's Desertfest, the quartet from Clermont-Ferrand pushes its hybrid of 90s alt rock and post-hardcore to new heights on Made Flesh. Recorded and mixed under the guidance of Cyrille Gachet (Fange, Year Of No Light, The Great Old Ones...) then mastered by Alan Douches (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Converge...), this second album is the one that presents the band as its members want you to hear it. And not as YOU want to hear it. Far from being weakened by its reorganization as a quartet, it is indeed the unbreakable bonds forged over a decade ago that are its strength, shining brilliantly with symbiosis here.
