Overview
Adrien Boisset, from La Pépinière Après Demain, was invited to delve into the Anthology of Women Poets from the Arab World prepared by Syrian poet Maram al-Masri.
For this reading, we will travel across the entire Maghreb, from Libya to Morocco, passing through Tunisia, Algeria, and even Mauritania. Come and hear the freedom of tone, form, and thought of these authors.
Their verses are free, their vocabulary resolutely contemporary, their imagery often astonishingly modern – a formal freedom that expresses a desire for human liberation.
Love, desire, social or religious prohibitions, and the demand for women's freedom and dignity are often the inner fire that animates these texts. Light Love to make me luminous, Chase away the darkness, Not to transform me Into a ghost! Rajae Talbi / Morocco
