Autour de Jean-Sébastien Bach

Overview
As part of Sunday Morning Concerts.
" René Char. Conceived as an alternative to concerts, usually scheduled in the evening or matinee but never before 3pm, Sunday Morning Concerts offer an unconventional format for the whole family.
Inscribed in the "Châtelet spirit," with programming both demanding, eclectic, and popular, these appointments are built around a simple and accessible format: one hour of music without intermission, punctuated by an introduction and reading where poetry, literature, and philosophy alternate.
Placed under the patronage of a personality from the arts or letters world, Sunday Morning Concerts are designed as an original musical moment where renowned performers engage in dialogue between arts and society for an approach both sensitive, informed, and enlightened to concert attendance.
For this second edition at Théâtre du Châtelet, programming centers on four appointments, from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's chamber music to Jean-Sébastien Bach's solo cello works, via a tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven as well as a look at solo piano repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries.
This programming emphasizes contemplation and reflection with an accessible approach for everyone.
As a thread also, as suggested by an excerpt from the letter written by poet and resistance fighter René Char to his friend Francis Curel during World War II, Sunday Morning Concerts are, first and foremost, an invitation to rapture in the beautiful setting that is Théâtre du Châtelet's Grand Hall.
Program: Introduction and poetry reading by Benjamin Lavernhe from the Comédie-Française. Cello: Anastasia Kobekina. Jean-Sébastien Bach Suites for Solo Cello, BWV 1007-1012 (excerpts). With excerpts from works by Hildegard von Bingen, Marin Marais, Arvo Pärt, Pēteris V
