The third symphony is the first of Beethoven's "revolutionary" symphonies; element of a new style, which sets the canons of the great nineteenth-century symphony.
The ensemble formed by the third and seventh is a witness to the bitter and wounded romantic resistance that Beethoven opposed to the old hero of the Revolution embodied by Bonaparte, become Napoleon.
