« Blur » de Craig Quintero et Phoebe Greenberg

Can science heal a broken heart? With BLUR, Craig Quintero and Phoebe Greenberg present an immersive experience on the edge of dream and augmented reality. Between biotechnologies and surreal figures, this international co-production plunges us into a future where cloning unsettles our certainties about life and death.

Multi-session show with 6 performances a day. Directed by Craig Quintero and Phoebe Greenberg, Blur is a hybrid work that pushes the boundaries of theatrical storytelling by integrating cutting-edge mixed reality technologies.

At the heart of this 50-minute journey, the audience is invited to explore a world where advances in resurrection biology and cloning have erased the boundaries between the natural and the artificial.

The experience poses a fundamental ethical question: what would you do if you could defeat death?

Inspired by the Theatre of the Absurd, this production unfolds as a dreamlike landscape populated by hybrid creatures, such as Dolly, a figure half-human, half-animal who embodies the grey areas of genetic engineering.

Thanks to volumetric motion capture and augmented reality, the raw emotions of the performers blend into virtual environments, creating an unsettling dialogue between the living and the dead.

This creation is the fruit of an international collaboration between PHI Studio (Montreal), Riverbed Theatre (Taipei) and Onassis Culture (Athens).

Acclaimed when presented at the Venice Biennale Mostra, BLUR proposes a new paradigm for live performance, in which digital technology amplifies the narrative.

More than a performance, it is a profound meditation on grief, identity and what makes us fundamentally human in the face of scientific progress. A work that is both dense and enthralling, recommended for audiences aged 16 and over.
