Brel : Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker

There's no age limit for loving and listening to Jacques Brel's music.

His songs and lyrics transcend time and generations, as shown by the towering Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and the young virtuoso dancer Solal Mariotte, brought together on stage for the first time.

Between them, they conjure up the image of the famous singer and share the stage with him, to the sound of his powerful songs, at times poetic, often political. Brel's voice fills the whole space, his phenomenal energy and every one of his emotions inhabiting the dancers' bodies.

Solo or in duet, the dance is expressive, by turns grave and funny, moving between suspended moments and instants of pure grace.

The young breakdance prodigy and the choreographer, a major figure of contemporary dance, join forces to offer us a moving reinterpretation of Brel's repertoire, firmly rooted in our own time.
