Overview
Carlton Rara's music is a unique blend: pop, reggae, blues, Haitian 'mizik rasin'… and his latest album Universed is an invitation to experience a universal musical vibration.
Twice selected by FIP, an album ranked in the Inrocks' top World/Jazz, the song Do You Love Me featured in the credits of the film Joséphine starring Marilou Berry; over time, the Franco-Haitian artist has touched hearts and minds.
The dancing energy of a Johnny Clegg, the intensity of Taj Mahal's blues or Marley's reggae pulse, the spoken word of Gil Scott-Heron, the Louisiana stew dear to the Neville Brothers, or even that unique way of bringing music back to an essential tranquility, are all sensations that a Carlton Rara concert can evoke.
