Overview
A joyful and sensitive retelling of the life of a rebellious bird. François Gremaud continues his trilogy on female figures by tackling Bizet's work, the most performed tragic opéra-comique in the world since its creation.
To celebrate this heroine driven by a burning desire for freedom, imagined by Prosper Mérimée, he offers a bespoke transcription sung and narrated by Rosemary Standley, singer with Moriarty, accompanied by five female musicians.
Between juicy historical anecdotes and delightful feminist quips, she plays all the roles, with extraordinary vocal and dramatic presence, shifting from soprano to baritone.
A lively show where music and theatre intertwine to celebrate an enduringly contemporary figure of insubordination!
