After the Organ Concerto No. 2 by a Polish composer with a rich catalogue, the emblem of romantic orchestral music resonates: the Symphonie fantastique, whose flamboyant imagination continues to impress.

With some sixty opuses, including operas, symphonic works, and chamber music, Elżbieta Sikora's catalogue includes both electroacoustic pieces and instrumental works.

“I listen, I search tirelessly,” explains the composer, who describes her music as “lyrical expressionism” and composed her Second Organ Concerto in 2022.

The main course of this concert, the Symphonie fantastique, continues to stand out as one of the most evocative and dazzling programme music pieces – the torments of an artist with autobiographical undertones.

“Un bal” (A Ball), “Marche au supplice” (March to the Scaffold), “Songe d’une nuit de sabbat” (Dream of a Witches' Sabbath): all bravura pieces where Berlioz's visionary imagination powerfully asserts itself.
