It's the story of little Jean-Bastien who lives in Haute-Saône.

The son of a farmer, he struggles to find his place in this rural world.

So, with his mum, he tells himself stories and takes refuge in films and musicals. But in the summer of his fourteenth year, his mum disappears.

It's the story of Jean-Bastien who finds himself alone.

Alone to confront his father and an environment that doesn't understand him.

Alone to embrace his difference and his homosexuality. Alone to refuse a life he doesn't want.

Alone, finally, to realise his dream.
