Overview
A genuinely funny link between the genius of Guitry and that of Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt! At ten, Alex loses his family, who are poisoned by a dish of mushrooms. Deprived of meals for having stolen two francs, he survives. His petty theft saved him, while honesty killed his family!
From there a strange view of the world takes shape, and he turns to cheating, in love as at the casino.
Written by: Sacha Guitry / Adapted by: Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt / Directed by: Amar Mostefaoui / With: Amar Mostefaoui, Françoise Boutin, Vanessa Tap, Jonathan Mercier, Christophe Daci.
Press: "A delightful moment of theatre, where wit takes precedence, where the words crackle, and where laughter becomes a delicious admission of weakness. The staging gives the monologue a real lift. It's an excellent idea!
" Le petit journal d'ALEX VIZOREK: "It's a treat for the ears, so rich and beautiful is the pen of Eric Emmanuel Schmitt. It brings out the full beauty of Sacha Guitry's one and only novel, and lets the actors revel in the many characters and different eras of the hero's life.
" Paris Théâtre Blog: "The three actors show great mischief and dynamism, which make this hour and a quarter pass in the blink of an eye. " VivantMag
