Overview
After living there from 2014 to 2020, Claire Bastier, a poet and storyteller, has travelled to Jerusalem several times since 7 October 2023, gathering the words and everyday sounds of the Israeli and Palestinian communities.
Bringing this material back home, where it can be open to interpretation, she submits its density to two improvising artists whom the everyday tragedy has not petrified, and who decide to approach it through the means of vocal improvisation for Catherine Jauniaux, or electroacoustics for François Wong.
It is at the latter's initiative that this experience attempts to compose, amid the pain of war, the possibility of a tomorrow. Art sometimes lets circulate what horror has left paralysed. And so the hope of the day after is born.
