The audience will witness a comical and twilight autopsy of a generation's utopias. Michel Corrini is a factory worker in Belfort; Marie-France Deschamps is a journalist in Paris; Luc Corrini is a teacher in Vénissieux. Their common points? They were born in the early 1950s and, at eighteen, "did" May 1968. But above all, on the evening of May 10, 1981, they were thirty years old and dreamed of seeing François Mitterrand elected to finally "change life. " Today, on the eve of the first round of the 2022 presidential elections, Luc is preparing to vote for Jean-Luc Mélenchon; Marie-France, for Emmanuel Macron and Michel for Marine Le Pen. What promises, what unspoken words, and what betrayals does François Mitterrand represent? This is what the three characters will try to understand by recounting their destinies to the audience, emblematic of late 20th-century France, and by embodying, in turn, the first socialist President of the Fifth Republic.
