Overview
SARKOLLANDE (COMEDIE IDENTITAIRE) Text: Julien Campani, Léo Cohen Paperman and Clovis Fouin Directed by: Léo Cohen Paperman With: Valentin Boraud, Clovis Fouin and Ada Harb Estimated running time: 1h40 Suitable for all audiences aged 14 and over The audience will watch a stand-up routine (episode 4).
- Nicolas Sarkozy steps onto the stage of a 'Comedy club'.
Across roughly eight sketches, he runs through the key moments of the campaign that took him to the Élysée, then of his five-year term in power (from the 'kärcher' remark to the 2012 identity campaign, via the 2008 economic crisis and his meeting with Carla Bruni).
During the performance, Nicolas Sarkozy will make contact with, and sometimes clash with, the audience. Here, the laughter is gleeful because it provokes, stings and wounds: in short, we might call it 'right-wing' laughter.
The stand-up becomes a metaphor for Sarkozy's embodiment of power: transgression, love and self-exposure, vivacity. In 2012, as he wants to stay on stage, N. Sarkozy is chased off the stage by François Hollande. The audience will watch a clown show (episode 5). 2012.
Hollande's clown enters the stage full of promises of change, because 'change is now'. Alas! His desk is askew, France's problems (unemployment, economic crisis, terrorism) weigh heavily, and everything comes crashing down despite the clown's good will.
Here, the show changes its nature. A different kind of laughter is summoned, one more naive, less wicked, perhaps also more unifying: in short, 'left-wing' laughter. ' As the names of the attack victims are read out, a woman in the audience interrupts the show….
Her name is Leïla Merabet.
