Three hundred prawns, embodying the lives of three hundred humans, re-enact the comedy of ordinary labour.

With this show, the Dutch company Hotel Modern pushes the boundaries of inventiveness and fantasy by examining our humanity through a lorgnette, zooming in and out on the small theatre of everyday life: funerals, childbirth, bistros, petrol stations or nightclubs… All places are permitted and all situations are represented in miniature and filmed in real time. Mixing live cinema, object theatre and live performance, Histoires de crevettes is an extraordinary experience. Through the prism of small pink crustaceans, which we are more accustomed to eating than contemplating, we get a close-up look at the trivialities of our tragicomic earthly existences.
