LA MEUTE

Adaptation of Boule de Suif by Guy DE MAUPASSANT by Yannick LAUBIN

With Yannick Laubin

• In a stagecoach, respectable notables, paragons of virtue, and "Boule de Suif", a prostitute, are fleeing the Prussian army. The coach is stopped by an enemy officer who demands, in exchange for letting the travellers continue on their way, the favours of Boule de Suif. She refuses.

Today. A classroom, a teacher, pupils, the audience, a case of school bullying known to everyone, and yet. Everything tips over when, through the study of Maupassant's text, this teacher weaves links between the work and current events, between the characters of the novella and very real situations, and sketches the protagonists and situations with bite. With a great deal of humour and intelligence, everything takes shape and makes sense, and as the mechanisms of the pack mentality are deciphered, the outlines of a collective resilience emerge.

"Boule de Suif brought to life and vibrancy by Yannick Laubin's bounding performance, who plays each character with gusto. Often moving from storyteller to actor, he animates the tale with caricatures drawn live and projected behind him, which makes this sensitive and rugged story come alive." La Revue du Spectacle
