Overview
Madame de La Fayette would undoubtedly have been delighted to see her Princess carry the stage so elegantly, more than three centuries after giving her life in her novel.
Who would have thought that this Mademoiselle de Chartres would one day be played by an actor who also takes on the role of the mother, the husband (aka the Prince de Clèves) and the impossible lover (aka the Duc de Nemours)? He had reckoned without the talent of Marcel Bozonnet, who, as early as 1995, had already made the seventeenth-century language his own with majesty, plunging us into the torments of love. More than princely, this bis repetita is royal.
Based on the novel by Madame de La Fayette
Adaptation by Alain Zaepffel
With Marcel Bozonnet
