Les correspondances des sœurs Jacob [Vives mémoires]

Part of "Vives mémoires". A closing event around the exhibition Simone Veil. Mes sœurs et moi

This closing event around the exhibition Simone Veil. Mes sœurs et moi brings to the stage the intimate story of the Jacob family, unfolding at the Mémorial de la Shoah since December.

It is the story of younger brother Jean, of beloved mother Yvonne, of stern father André, and, at its heart, of the three sisters Simone, Madeleine (known as Milou), and Denise.

This reading is offered as an ode to the Jacob sisterhood and an embodiment of the correspondence that paints their lyrical, intimate portrait.

Carried by the voices of Jeanne Balibar, Dominique Reymond and Isabelle Huppert, the words of Milou, Simone and Denise resonate within us, urging ever greater depth and precision, sensitivity, discernment and courage. With actresses Jeanne Balibar and Dominique Reymond.

In the presence of David Teboul, curator of the exhibition.

Vives mémoires: since 2024, Théâtre de la Ville and the Mémorial de la Shoah have continued their collaboration, offering distinctive events blending artistic performance, talks and discussion around the transmission and dialogue of memory.

This season, we renew this invitation to think together, in a spirit of sharing and awakening: sharing in order to learn and feel; awakening in order to understand and act.

Through stories, literary works and testimonies, accompanied by artists, historians and committed public figures, these events offer keys to understanding today's troubled times, facing tomorrow's more effectively, and reaffirming what unites us: our common humanity.
