Maxim Vengerov, violin Maxim Vengerov is a Russian violinist, violist, and conductor born in 1974 in Novosibirsk, recognised as one of the greatest classical musicians of his generation.
A child prodigy, he won major international competitions at a very young age and subsequently performed on the world's most prestigious stages.
He has also distinguished himself as a pedagogue (notably at the Menuhin Academy) and as a conductor, after overcoming an injury that temporarily kept him away from the violin in the early 2000s.
