Julien Martineau and Philippe Mouratoglou form an exceptional duo, where mandolin and guitar sometimes sound like a single instrument, so fluid and natural is their dialogue and their sonorities. They celebrate the richness of the repertoire for mandolin and guitar through works by Italian composers, great South American masters, and Ludwig van Beethoven. They invite the audience on an enchanting musical journey.

While a handful of "hits" are most often highlighted to present classical guitar (Concierto de Aranjuez, Asturias – which, let's remember, is a piece for piano…), the immense richness of its repertoire – covering more than 5 centuries of music in the most varied aesthetics – is no longer in doubt today. The fact is less known, some of the greatest masterpieces in the catalogue were written…for guitar duo! In this format, freed from the constraint of jointly assuming melody and accompaniment, this instrument fully demonstrates the infinite gradations of nuances and colours of which it is capable, as illustrated by Rémi Jousselme and Philippe Mouratoglou in Astor Piazzolla's thrilling Tango Suite and in the sumptuous Suite Retratos by the Brazilian Radamès Gnattali.
