Overview
Presented by CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES SPECTACLES 3-1054036 An unfinished masterpiece, a musical testament, a timeless sacred composition reaching beyond the liturgical setting — Mozart's Requiem gathers superlatives like no other work.
At the time of his death, the composer had fully completed the Introit and the Kyrie, and had largely defined the content of the next five sections, from the Dies Irae to the Confutatis.
The work has since given rise to countless hypotheses, numerous versions of its unfinished pages, and above all, magnificent performances: it captivates listener and performer alike, and stands, almost in its entirety, in the form Mozart left it.
