Emmanuel Eggermont lends his body to the dreams, references, and impulses of a passionate youth to compose a solo that is as intimate as it is political!

Dancing our future, letting ourselves be swept away by the passions of a youth… but for what? The gesture of an artist who lends his body to the effervescence of Gen Z, tracing an optimism we thought was lost. A sensitive manifesto. What does youth swear by?

The famous Generation Z, these citizens in their twenties, who will vote or have just voted for the first time, seem to have less confidence in the future than their elders. But what is the reality?

Emmanuel Eggermont asked a hundred of them, from very varied socio-cultural backgrounds, to share the sources of inspiration that drive them daily: cult films, favourite music, video games, images, novels or poems… This forms a radiography of their experience of the world.

However, Emmanuel Eggermont's intention is not to present a catalogue. With a precise and articulated architecture down to the smallest gesture, he constructs a living and multifaceted choreographic score, traversed by a subjective vision of certain references.

The atmosphere of a piece in perpetual construction is reflected in the scenography conceived in collaboration with Paolo Morvan.

The sound layers of Julien Lepreux (Rouge Gazon) and the electronic melodies of the young prodigy leisurely t, who animate Open my chest…, in turn respond to the universe of the generation that will forge the future of the world. With the Faits d’hiver festival.
